About Marian

I’m an educator, researcher, and creative writer who helps students and professionals become clearer, more confident writers. I bring a practical, supportive approach to English, academic writing, creative writing, and poetry—meeting you where you are and helping you reach your goals step by step. Whether you’re working on essays, developing your creative voice, or strengthening core writing skills, I offer structured guidance, thoughtful feedback, and a calm, encouraging space to grow. If you’re looking for a tutor who is organized, approachable, and genuinely invested in your progress, I’d love to work with you.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student-centered, structured, and adaptable, with a focus on building both writing skill and confidence. Drawing on my background in education, research, and creative writing, I tailor each session to a student’s goals—whether improving academic writing, strengthening reading and analysis skills, or developing an authentic creative voice.

I begin by assessing strengths, learning styles, and areas for growth, then co-create clear, achievable goals. Sessions balance skill-building with exploration, combining close reading, discussion, and guided practice. My facilitation experience informs a teaching style that is organized, collaborative, and responsive.

For English and academic writing, I focus on clarity, organization, argument development, and revision strategies, treating grammar and mechanics as tools for precision. For creative writing and poetry, I emphasize voice, craft fundamentals (imagery, sound, structure), generative exercises, and constructive feedback that supports risk-taking and growth.

Grounded in research and inclusive pedagogy, I prioritize accessibility, thoughtful revision, and measurable progress. My goal is to help students not only improve their writing, but also develop the skills and confidence to work independently beyond our sessions.
