About Devon
I am a molecular biologist, immunologist, biophysicist, structural biologist, and protein chemist. I did my undergraduate degree at University College London in molecular biology. My doctoral thesis was in biophysics at Johns Hopkins University and the majority of my postdoctoral work was at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at University of Oxford in structural immunology. I have designed courses for undergraduate study in immunology and biochemistry and graduate level study in biochemistry and biophysics. I have also provided tutoring at a US high school level in chemistry and biology in addition to GCSE and A-level chemistry. I have a familiarity with UK, US, and international educational standards, including the International Baccalaureate and can assist students in preparation for the IB as well.

My approach to teaching is primarily student driven to ensure confidence in the required material. I find student have a higher retention rate for information with practised recall/question and answer, as well as improving confidence in material. This is a process that should be enjoyable and engaging to promote a young person's inherent curiosity.
