About Lucy
As a Spanish tutor, I emphasize a balanced approach that integrates grammar mastery, practical conversation, and cultural awareness. I teach Spanish through a philosophy that values communication, culture, and confidence above all else. I believe that language is not a subject to be memorized but a living tool for expression, connection, and understanding. In every lesson, I prioritize real communication—guiding students to speak, listen, and engage in Spanish using meaningful, personalized conversation. We begin with simple exchanges and gradually expand into more complex dialogues, using role-plays, storytelling, and real-world prompts to practice fluency.
I teach grammar in context, showing students how to apply structures like the past tense or subjunctive mood through situations they can relate to. I avoid mechanical drills in favor of activities that help internalize grammar through use. Reading and writing are equally important, and I incorporate short texts, personal reflections, and creative exercises to reinforce vocabulary and structure. Culture is deeply embedded in my teaching; I expose students to the richness of the Spanish-speaking world through idiomatic expressions, holidays, history, and regional diversity.
