About Richard
I first fell in love with German when I was 14, and I feel like that's when I really started to understand and love English too (my native language). I am a keen outdoorsman and bushcrafter, which helps me to unwind after my crazy job as an Emergency Room nurse. I have taught all the outdoors stuff for 13 years, and have taught first aid and EMT classes for about 5 years. I've tutored a number of people in German over the years and I absolutely love seeing people's skills and confidence grow.

I love learning by laughing, so my focus is on making the material accessible and as fun as possible. I like to use music, pictures, videos and real-life stories and experiences to develop points and to enhance understanding. It has always been my experience that subjects that we can relate to emotionally make more sense to us and are easier to remember.
