About Ryan
Hi, I’m Ryan Carvalho, an Executive Function and Study Skills coach with over twelve years of experience helping students build focus, structure, and academic confidence. My background blends psychology, behavior science, and years of work in some of Massachusetts’ top-performing school systems, including Boston Latin, Brookline, and Newton. I’ve coached hundreds of students through challenges with organization, planning, procrastination, follow-through, and motivation, and I’ve built a reputation for creating systems that actually work in the real world. I founded Behavioral Bridge, a coaching practice designed to help students who feel overwhelmed or stuck. My approach is simple: I teach the routines and executive function strategies that schools rarely explain. Instead of relying on lectures or generic advice, I break down habits into clear, repeatable steps that fit the student's personality, learning style, and daily life. I understand the emotional side of academic struggles—frustration, stress, avoidance, pressure—and I coach students through both the practical tools and the mindset shifts needed to overcome them. Over the years, I’ve developed a steady, structured mentorship style that teens respond to. Students appreciate the clarity, directness, and support I bring; parents value the consistency, communication, and long-term impact on their child’s confidence and independence. Whether a student struggles with task initiation, time management, weekly planning, forgetfulness, or simply keeping up with the demands of school, I help them build the systems and habits that transform their academic life. My goal is not just to improve grades, but to change how students work, think, and approach challenges. Executive Function coaching has the power to reshape confidence, reduce anxiety, and give students a sense of control over their responsibilities—and that’s the work I’m committed to every day.

My lessons are designed to rebuild a student’s academic life from the inside out using clear structure, psychology-based strategy, and repeatable executive function systems. Each session focuses on strengthening the core skills that determine school performance: organization, planning, time management, task initiation, focus, and consistent follow-through. Instead of giving students vague advice, I teach them simple, proven routines that make their workload feel manageable and predictable.
We begin by identifying the student’s current challenges—missed assignments, procrastination, distraction, lack of structure, difficulty starting tasks—and then build a personalized system that fits their brain. Students learn how to plan their week, break large assignments into steps, set priorities, manage distractions, and maintain steady momentum even when motivation is low. I provide the structure, accountability, and strategy that schools don’t teach, so the student gains habits that last far beyond our sessions.
Every lesson includes practical tools: weekly planners, step-by-step workflows, habit routines, study strategies, and clear expectations. I help students understand how their mind works, how to reduce overwhelm, and how to approach school with confidence instead of stress. As they build these systems, they also build identity—seeing themselves as capable, organized, and in control of their academic life.
Parents appreciate the consistency, clarity, and communication I bring, while students appreciate having a mentor who guides them with both structure and encouragement. My goal is not just to improve grades—it’s to develop the lifelong skills that create focus, productivity, and success in any environment.
