For English and phonics, I emphasize sound recognition, blending, decoding, and sentence construction through repetition, visuals, and real-life examples. In Math, I simplify concepts using step-by-step explanations, manipulatives, and problem-solving strategies that help students understand the “why” behind each answer. I also adapt teaching pace based on the learner’s needs to ensure full understanding before moving forward.
Typical lesson plan:
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up or review of previous topics to activate prior knowledge. This is followed by a clear introduction of the new concept with examples. Then guides the student through practice exercises together, gradually moving toward independent work. Lessons end with a quick assessment or recap to check understanding, plus simple reinforcement activities or homework when appropriate.
