About Beth
I have 24 years of experience inside a regular, second grade classroom in a public school system, with class sizes usually ranging from 20-25 students. I have also worked with approximately 20-25 different students through online tutoring, both after school and in the summertime. I hold a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Education, as well as an Educational Specialist Degree. I have had a lot of experience with students having special needs, such as ADD, ADHD, and Autism, as well as students needing enrichment in different subject areas.

Most of my 24 years of experience is with students at the K-3 level and my level of expertise lies in the area of reading/language arts. I like to plan lessons with plenty of activities that are both fun and engaging. I tend to incorporate game-type activities as well as basic drill and practice. Ongoing assessments and tracking are also usually a part of my lesson, so as to accurately guide instruction. I like to split my lessons into smaller chunks of activities to keep things fun, manageable, and interesting, while holding students attention throughout the entire session.
