I am a 2nd grade teacher with my bachelor's in Elementary education and my master's in Reading with Dyslexia. I have had 3-4 years of teaching experience including teaching in a general classroom setting and as a reading interventionist/tutor.

I teach phonics skills to children who struggle in reading, those just learning to read, and/or those who just need to reinforce what they already know. I teach these skills through a multi-sensory, hands-on approach, all based in the Science of Reading. A typical session will be about 30-45 minutes, starting with about 8 minutes of drilling sounds the student already knows, writing sounds, and blending sounds together into words. This is followed by introducing a new phonic skill/one that needs reinforcing through multi-sensory activities like sand writing, skywriting, and the use of manipulatives. I have my master's in Reading with Dyslexia, as well as 3-4 years of experience in teaching reading, specifically reading intervention. These lessons will be geared towards 4-12 year olds.
