About Katherine
I have been in education for 18 years. I started as a substitute teacher, became an instructional assistant, a teacher, and now an assistant principal. I am a mother of two middle school-aged kiddos (13 and 12). My husband is a sheriff's deputy, and we have been married for 11 years. We have two spoiled dogs, our daughter has two fat cats, and we have a huge tank of goldfish (probably close to 15). We love gardening, taking walks and hiking, camping, and generally being outdoors. We also all serve in kids at our church. I think I have a bubbly and fun personality that will help keep your student engaged and wanting to learn.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas in Tyler. I have my Master's in Educational Leadership and Curriculum Design from Concordia University in Austin. I hold a Texas generalist teaching certificate for EC-8th grade. I have taught 2nd through 5th grade all subjects; however, my specialty is reading and math. I have taught virtually and loved it! I am also ESL certified and hold a current Texas Principal certificate. I am currently an elementary assistant principal. I make learning fun and engaging, even in a virtual setting. I find ways to put the learning in the hands of the student. Together we will uncover the love of learning in your child.
