I'm a recently retired teacher with 20+yrs classroom and tutoring experience. I now dedicate my time to working with elementary level students who need an extra boost in Reading and Math.

Reading and Math are the core fundamentals of education. When students are missing building blocks in these subjects, they fall behind, not only in Reading and Math, but in all subjects.
Once they fall behind, frustration and anxiety set in because they feel like they will never be able to get caught up.
The key to getting better grades is being able to identify exact gaps in student knowledge. Once this is identified, I am able to create and implement a clear roadmap that:
provides your child with incremental scaffolding, meaning each child learns new concepts, but does not move on until they have grasped the concept and are able to successfully solve/understand independently.
provides instruction that is both systematic and cumulative meaning the sequence must begin with the easiest and most basic concepts and elements and progress methodically to more difficult concepts and elements.
provides multisensory teaching strategies meaning helping your child to learn through more than one sense. Multisensory techniques enable students to use their personal areas of strength to help them learn.
Tuition approached in this manner means a child feeling less overwhelmed, less pressured and more confident in their ability.
