About Emily

With more than 9 years of experience, I have trained many students in flute across different age groups. I teach beginners as well as advanced students from school, college, and professional backgrounds.

My teaching style is friendly, structured, and goal-oriented. I first understand the student’s level and interest, then design lessons accordingly. I emphasise breathing techniques, hand positioning, tone control, and rhythm precision. I make sure students practise correctly to avoid bad habits.

In addition to flute performance, I teach music theory, notation reading, rhythm training, ear development, and basic harmony concepts. This combination helps students become complete musicians.

I regularly monitor progress and provide feedback for improvement. My special strength is helping students develop smooth finger coordination and clear tone production. I also help students prepare for exams, competitions, and live performances. I aim to make every lesson productive and motivating.

About the lesson

My flute teaching methodology is centred on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe that strong flute playing begins with understanding the connection between breath, tone, and expression.

I first evaluate each student’s learning style and musical background. Some students learn best through structured exercises, while others prefer listening and imitation. I adapt my lessons to suit their individual needs.

Lessons focus on developing breath support, embouchure control, posture alignment, and tone consistency. I include long-tone exercises, scale patterns, articulation drills, and rhythm studies to build a strong technical foundation. Once basics are secure, I introduce musical phrasing, dynamics, and expressive interpretation.

Flexibility allows me to modify lesson pace depending on student progress and goals. Whether preparing for exams, performances, or personal enjoyment, I adjust repertoire and exercises accordingly.

Collaboration encourages open communication. Students are involved in goal setting and self-evaluation.

Positivity ensures that learning remains motivating and enjoyable. In addition to flute, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, rhythm development, and performance preparation for complete musical growth.
