About Roberto

I'm Roberto — an electronics engineer with a PhD in Robotics and over 30 years of experience across robotics, telecommunications, and autonomous vehicles. Along the way I've led engineering teams, co-founded technology companies, published a decade of robotics research, and developed nine patents.
But what I keep coming back to is teaching. Throughout my career, the moments that stayed with me were never the patents or the boardroom wins — they were the moments someone on my team suddenly understood something that had been out of reach. That look when it clicks. I got hooked on making that happen.
I tutor because I remember what it felt like to be stuck — and I remember the people who helped me see things differently. I want to be that person for my students.

About the lesson

Every lesson starts from where you are — your level, what's making sense, and what isn't yet.
A big part of what I do is help students read equations the way you'd read a sentence. Most students struggle not because the engineering is too hard, but because the language is unfamiliar — they don't understand what the question is really asking, or what an equation is actually telling them. Once you understand what it's saying, you can rework one equation into several others without memorising them all. I always say I'm too lazy to memorise — I'd rather understand, and let the equation do the thinking for me.
I also ask students to explain things back to me. It'll feel unnecessary — you'll think you already know it. But when we try to put understanding into words, that's when the gaps show up. Every time we do that, the knowledge goes deeper.
We build these skills on solid foundations — understanding, for example, what current actually does in a resistor, or how an op-amp works with its inputs. Piece by piece, until the subject makes sense on its own terms.
If you learn better by doing, we build things. I have a full toolkit — Arduino, ESP32, STM32, Crumble, plus workshop tools for projects with lights, motors, sensors, and sound. Learning feels different when you can hold the result in your hands.
Whether you're preparing for an exam or exploring electronics through real projects, my goal is always the same: that you leave genuinely understanding something you didn't before.
