About Ali

I'm Ali, an online tutor helping students understand electrical circuits, signals, control systems and digital electronics, with support for introductory robotics projects.

I have supported university students with control systems and digital signal processing. My Superprof feedback includes a student describing resit preparation in multirate signal processing, Z-domain analysis and PID control, with step-by-step explanations and practice. I hold Ambassador status.

My Aerospace Engineering academic background at the Institute of Space Technology connects these subjects through modelling, instrumentation and feedback. My project work includes MATLAB/Simulink modelling for a vehicle that combines flight and ground movement.

I explain what the system does, why a method fits and how to check the result. You practise the next step with guidance so you can explain your own working.

I teach online in English from Pakistan, supporting students in Bristol and across the UK.

Stuck on an electronics assignment, a signals question or a control-system model? Bring the question and whatever you have tried. We identify the difficulty, choose a method and work through the reasoning so you can explain your own solution.

I primarily support undergraduate, BTEC, diploma and adult learners, plus relevant GCSE and A Level electricity, electronics and circuit topics. Lessons are online in English, using screen sharing, live explanations and guided practice.

Tell me your module or project topic and where you are stuck. You do not need a polished solution before asking. A question, diagram or screenshot is useful if you have one.

Your free first 60-minute lesson

We focus on one representative difficulty, such as setting up circuit equations, understanding a Z-transform step or interpreting a simulation response. I check your starting point, explain a useful method and help you practise applying it. We agree your next practice step and whether further lessons would help. A full assignment or project may need several sessions.

Electrical Principles and Circuit Analysis

DC and AC circuits, Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, series and parallel networks, nodal and mesh analysis, superposition, Thevenin and Norton equivalents, electrical power, complex numbers, phasors and impedance. Capacitors, inductors, RC/RL/RLC circuits, transients and steady-state behaviour.

Electronics and Digital Systems

Analogue and digital fundamentals, component behaviour and simple circuit interpretation. Digital Logic Design and Digital Systems Design: truth tables, Boolean algebra, Karnaugh maps, combinational logic, flip-flops, sequential circuits and introductory finite-state machines.

Signals and Systems / Digital Signal Processing

Time-domain and frequency-domain reasoning, Laplace and Z transforms, block diagrams and discrete-time systems. Selected DSP topics include sampling, interpolation, decimation, multirate signal processing and filterbanks, matched to your module. We connect the equations to what the signal or system is doing.

Control Systems and Automation

Transfer functions, feedback, block-diagram reduction, time response, stability, Bode plots, gain and phase margins, PID control and selected digital-control questions. MATLAB and Simulink support includes plotting responses, building models, tracing errors and checking simulation results against theory.

Instrumentation, Mechatronics and Introductory Robotics

Sensors, actuators, motors, basic motor-driver concepts, signal flow and component integration. We can plan a system, interpret diagrams and troubleshoot supported embedded-system or robotics projects.

For online project support, we use your circuit diagram, clear wiring photographs, shared code or simulation model to trace the issue and test one change at a time. Send your board, components and software details so I can confirm coverage and agree the equipment and approach before booking.

The mathematics and code behind the system

Relevant algebra, complex numbers, differential equations, Laplace transforms and Z transforms are explained within your engineering problem. Selected MATLAB, Python and C++ support covers calculations, data plots and understanding project code.

Assignments, coursework, projects and exam preparation

We can interpret the brief, review your attempt, check calculations, discuss measurements and explain unexpected results. For projects, we connect the theory to your circuit, simulation or introductory robotics system. You develop your own calculations, code and design decisions. For assessed work, you remain responsible for your solution and submission. Exam and resit preparation uses representative questions, past papers and timed practice matched to your course.

If your course uses a different name, ask me about it. Circuit Theory, Electronic Systems, Digital Control and related modules may cover the same topics. Send your topic, where you need help and any deadline so I can confirm the fit.

£30 per 60-minute online lesson across the agreed topics in this ad. The first 60-minute lesson is free and focuses on one representative difficulty and a practical next step.

Optional packs: five hours £145 (£29/hour), or ten hours £280 (£28/hour). Start with individual lessons and choose a pack later if it suits your learning plan.

Any substantial preparation or work outside booked lesson time must be agreed separately in advance. Hardware or software purchases, if needed, are discussed before you commit.

Superprof's Student Pass subscription is separate from my tuition. The free first lesson does not include or waive that subscription.

For lessons booked and paid through Superprof, cancellations more than 24 hours in advance receive a full refund. For later student cancellations, my saved policy retains 50% of the lesson fee and refunds 50%. I confirm this policy before booking.
