About Ralph

Hello! I'm Rafael, a bilingual educator with over 30 years of teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Education from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My career has included teaching elementary school, working as a university professor, and founding an innovative school.

Originally from California, I now live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. I'm also an author and passionate about language, culture, and connecting with people.

My teaching approach is personalized, engaging, and supportive. I enjoy helping students build confidence, strengthen their English skills, and discover the joy of communicating effectively.

About the lesson

My English lessons are personalized, engaging, and designed around your individual goals, interests, and learning needs. With over 30 years of teaching experience and a Ph.D. in Education, I bring a thoughtful, research-informed approach that makes learning both meaningful and enjoyable.

Whether you want to improve your conversational English, pronunciation, grammar, reading comprehension, academic writing, or professional communication, I create a supportive environment where you can develop confidence and fluency.

I believe language is best learned through authentic communication rather than memorization alone. My lessons emphasize meaningful conversation, practical application, constructive feedback, and opportunities to use English in real-world situations.

I work with learners at all proficiency levels and adapt my instruction to your pace and learning style. As a bilingual English-Spanish educator, I also understand the challenges and opportunities of learning another language.

My goal is not simply to help you speak better English, but to help you become a confident, independent communicator.
