About D'Nea
I currently work at a school in Toronto in support of learning resources. I help students with organization and homework completion, with special attention to students who have fallen behind in their coursework. I provide individual and group extra help math sessions for students in grades 9 to 12, working with teachers and noting trends to provide targeted instruction that increases academic performance. I have also tutored students in grades 6-12 online in math.

My passion lies in math, and how we can teach math in different ways to promote understanding. In my experience, math can be the most frustrating subject, on that students come to dread. I take a patient, individualized approach to tutoring and teaching math.
Not only do I teach and review concepts, I also aim to build students' confidence in their math skills. I offer challenge, with support, I give students room to think and problem solve, while letting them know that I am there to support if they needed. I am careful to speak without judgement, to be encouraging as we work through example problems, so that students understand their math courses, but also have a new mindset with regard to math overall.
