About Shawn

Looking for a tutor who actually gets it? I’m Shawn Czerkis—an experienced educator with a passion for helping students not only understand what they’re learning but actually enjoy it. With over a decade in the classroom, I specialize in making challenging material approachable, whether it's middle school math, secondary English, or social studies. I work with students of all backgrounds and learning styles to build confidence, improve performance, and spark curiosity. Patient, supportive, and a little bit witty, I meet learners where they are and help them get where they need to be. Let’s unlock your full potential—one lesson at a time.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions are anything but boring. I bring energy, humor, and real-world relevance to every lesson—because learning should feel worth it. I work best with students who need a boost in confidence, struggle to stay engaged, or just haven’t found the right person to connect with yet. My lessons are designed to meet learners where they are—whether they need help with reading, writing, executive functioning, or just figuring out how to stay focused.

As someone who overcame a reading delay as a child, I know firsthand how powerful the right support can be. That early challenge taught me empathy, resilience, and the importance of celebrating progress—not just perfection. Whether your child needs foundational skills or advanced enrichment, I’m here to help them feel seen, heard, and capable.
