About Osheyana
I’m an educator with experience as a teacher of record, teaching science courses like astronomy, earth science, and marine science, along with a background in English Language Arts. I’ve worked with a wide range of students and really enjoy helping them make sense of things that used to feel confusing.
I’m patient, flexible, and focused on building trust with students so they feel comfortable asking questions and taking their time to learn. A lot of the students I work with come in feeling stuck or overwhelmed, and my goal is to help them leave feeling more confident and capable.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy creative projects, reading, and anything that combines learning with hands-on experiences.

My lessons are flexible and focused on each student’s needs. I start by identifying what’s not clicking, then break it down step-by-step using clear explanations, examples, and guided practice. I check for understanding as we go and adjust my approach to make sure it actually works for the student.
A typical session might include reviewing current assignments, practicing key skills together, and building strategies the student can use independently. I also help with organization, study habits, and learning strategies when needed.
I’ve taught full classes before, so I understand what students need to succeed. I focus on making lessons understandable and helping students feel confident instead of stressed or overwhelmed.
I work best with upper elementary, middle school, and high school students, especially those who need support in science, writing, or staying on track with schoolwork.
