About Simphiwe Donald Fikanoxolo
I am writing to express my interest in the Tutor/ Teacher Position as advertised. With a strong educational background and extensive experience in library management, education, and ecotourism, I am confident in my ability to contribute effectively to your team.
In 2013, I completed a National Diploma in Ecotourism Management, which provided me with a solid foundation in ecotourism practices and principles. Subsequently, I pursued further education, including a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) Didactics BIOLOGY and ongoing studies towards a B-Tech in Tourism Management. These academic endeavors have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of educational methodologies, research practices, and strategic management in the tourism sector.
Additionally, I am currently enrolled in a School Library Management and Administration short course, which complements my practical experience as a Library Assistant (Cadet) at Ekurhuleni Libraries. In this role, I gained hands-on experience in circulation services, user guidance, and library programming. Furthermore, my experience tutoring students in various subjects, including Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, English, and Geography, demonstrates my ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and support diverse learning needs.
My commitment to education and student support is further evidenced by my tenure as a Resident Advisor at Durban University of Technology, where I managed residence activities, provided pastoral care to students, and facilitated academic support programs. Moreover, my experience as a Junior Lecturer in the Ecotourism Extended Curriculum Program underscores my dedication to fostering academic excellence and promoting student success.

• Manage and coordinate residence activities.
• Reporting on students’ incidents and damages, disciplinary matters, maintenance reports.
• Facilitate room inspection, checking in and out of students in the residence.
• Implement residence development programmes that promote student support.
