My key approach to Professional Development is building on existing strengths. Everybody as some things they are doing well, I like to highlight these and then build on them.
Where possible and practical I like to provide modelling for those I am working with.
I also provide professional readings and recommendations for places that provide useful resources.
I spent 16 years as a Primary School teacher with leadership responsibility for Mathematics. I believe that all learners are capable of being successful. I obtained a Masters Degree in Education focusing on research based best pedagogical practice.
For the last 3 years I have worked as a PLD facilitator and would like to make my skills and knowledge more widely available.

I am a passionate educator with a keen desire to see all children achieve their educational potential. My desire to see raised student achievement has led me to post graduate study and eventually to my current role as a mathematics facilitator. During 15 years of teaching I have taught students from Year 3 to Year 8. I believe that all students are capable of achieving and that it is the teacher’s role to enable this by finding the best learning approach for each student. I am committed to using an integrated curriculum approach and a mixed ability small group format for all learning. I advocate a growth mindset and attempt to develop this in all students, as their thinking and attitude has a significant impact on their learning.
