About Christina

I was born and raised in China, a country people did not speak English very much back then, now it's a little better. Even though school mandated English class from 4th grade all the way to college, students still find it hard to speak English. The main reason was that written English taken up 80% of it for the tests, and the teacher who taught English was not good at speaking either.
I mention the above for two reasons. One is that I was able to excel in that environment an became a very good English speaker due to my passions and relentless practices, but it was without methods, and I want to share the important methods that actually work with more people. Second reason is to remind you that you can work hard for many years like many Chinese students do on a language for many years and still can't speak it if you are only putting effort in written classes.
And that's why I'm super exciting to help people with their Mandarin learning with my own years of language learning experiences!

About the lesson

I will be using zoom and PPTs for the class so you can familiarize yourself with Chinese writing while having you practice a lot of speaking, homework assignment to practice writing between classes so you can improve both your speaking and written Mandarin.
A typical lesson plan is to conversate over one specific topic, you may volunteer topics if you would like and I will prepare PPTs with a few sentences and words on that topic. I will help you practise to say it in Mandarin as fluent and you can get, and work on whichever word you find difficult with.
What sets me apart as a tutor is that I was a very passionate English learner myself, I worked very hard to learn English in China, and I find a way to help myself excel in so many ways than other in language learning, and I really want to help others like me to navigate a foreign language like I do, and I feel very good about myself doing this.
Since each lesson is a private lesson, and each student is at a different level with a different goal, I will accept students with different age levels. Thank you in advance for scheduling with me and looking forward to meeting you in class!
