I am a private tutor for a Grade 12 Learner, across Business Studies and History. This role has been quite instrumental in helping me fine-tune my planning and organizational skills. Communicating regularly with the parents has shown me the importance of building interpersonal relationships and parent-teacher teamwork mentality that facilitate the learner’s progress. After each tutor session, I offer a verbal report on the Learner’s progress which allows me to reflect on my practice. I appreciate the one-on-one instruction and study because it offers an opportunity to serve as a positive role model for the Learner. In addition to this, I manage to experiment and implement various study techniques to develop an effective study routine.

I approach tutoring language from a constructivist approach in which the lessons are always focused on the capabilities of the students. Use their strengths to find meaningful knowledge in their writing, spelling, grammar, and reading. Using multiple sources gives more clarity and understanding of challenging content. Either it is paper-based or digital-based sources. My lessons are geared towards grade 8- grade 12.

Details
120 per hour is my standard fee after the 1st free lesson. I am willing to offer a discount if students book a 'pack' of lessons. For every 5hr lessons, I will charge R 500 instead of R600. For every 10 hours, I will offer R950 instead of R1 200.
