About Joyce
Hello, I am currently an Education and Psychology student at the University of Southampton, entering Year 2.
I have always had a passion for sciences and logic-based subjects, achieving Grade 9s in GCSE Maths, Further Maths, and Biology, as well as A/A* grades at A-Level. My degree in Psychology has taught me that academic success isn't just about intelligence but it’s about a mixture of confidence, memory techniques, and the right mental approach.
I am originally from Hong Kong and it brings me a disciplined and rigorous approach in learning. Having transferred into the UK education system since Year 9, achieving top marks in GCSEs and A-Levels helps students master complex subjects and adapt to high-pressure environments. I am also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, allowing me to offer specialised support to international students or students who prefer bilingual instruction.

I combine my deep subject knowledge with psychological insights to make learning more efficient and less stressful.
Duration: Flexible sessions ranging from 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on students' concentration levels and the complexity of the topic.
My students can message me between sessions if they hit a "brick wall" with their homework or a specific past paper question.
Target Audience: Primarily Year 10 and 11 GCSE students. I also welcome younger students (Year 9 and below) who want a "fast-track" introduction to these subjects to get ahead.
My experiences and qualifications:
Mathematics: Grade 9 (GCSE), Grade 9 (Further Maths), Grade A (Additional Maths), and Grade A (A-Level).
Psychology: Grade 8 (GCSE) and A* (A-Level).
Biology: Grade 9 (GCSE) and Grade A (A-Level).
Alongside, I also had the experience of working with younger learners (including Year 5 Maths support).
I also provide GCSE Psychology, Biology, A-Level Psychology and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) classes.
