About Lucy Rose
****I'm afraid all my sessions have now been booked up and I have no more weekly availability. I am taking bookings for revision sessions during the April holidays and bookings for tuitions slots for next academic year (June 2026 onwards) ***
I have always loved Mathematics and knew I wanted to teach from a young age. I took Maths and Further maths at A Level and then went onto a degree in Mathematics. I then completed trained as a teacher with TeachFirst and have been teaching since.
I truly believe that anyone can 'do' maths if they're given the time, patience and the right method for them.
I'm overly enthusiastic (so my students say) but an excellent teacher.
I also cycle, hike and sew in my spare time.

My focus is always on students understanding how maths works rather than just remembering formulas. This reduces revision needed and helps students succeed in problem solving.
I generally recommend 1-1.5hr sessions depending on level and any other needs.
I have over 8 years teaching experience, some in England and some in Scotland. I have taught GCSE, National 5, and Higher and am an exam marker.
10+ years tutoring experience up to A Level and equivalent.
1st Class degree in Mathematics, Qualified teacher, DBS checked.

Details
Daytime sessions (before 4pm) are at a reduced rate of £35 per hour.
Group sessions are also available at the base rate +£10 per person. (Max 5 students)
