About William
I'm an Economics student at the London School of Economics after achieving A*A*A* in my A-Levels (Maths, Further Maths and Economics) in 2024. During my time at secondary school, I have been fortunate enough to have great teachers, who inspired me to improve and love economics, which was a large part of the reason I chose to study it at university. Tutoring is rewarding because by sharing my knowledge, I’ve ignited a love for economics in several other students and inspired them to also study the subject in greater depth at university. During my last year of Sixth Form, I spent 2 lunchtimes a week helping economics GCSE Level students at clinics and acting as a mentor for two GCSE students. Helping my students' hard work pay off is what keeps me tutoring throughout the university stress and I am eager to support anybody who reaches out to me. I have now privately tutored students for 2 years and provide single or group lessons. Finally, I am happy to provide evidence of an up-to-date DBS certificate and my qualifications before we begin tutoring. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, playing squash and cooking up MasterChef worthy meals.

My teaching methods vary depending on the students' goals and challenges. I am happy to provide value by teaching content, reviewing exam questions, assisting with homework and more. Some days students need a tutor to take a more proactive role and break down difficult topics into digestible bites, whereas other times they benefit most from a guiding voice to lead them in the right direction. That being said, my teaching is often much more efficient when students bring to me specific topics that they are struggling with and then I can help them build understanding from there. The key to excelling in maths is a clear understanding of the “why’s” of the content and developing logical thought processes to help you apply that content to any question an examiner can throw at you.

William helped me a lot with understanding tricky topics in Maths A-level, and always explained them in a clear and effective way. He showed patience and understanding and was easy to get along with, so I was not afraid to ask questions. He is very knowledgeable and also followed up on topics after the lesson, so I would recommend him very highly.
