About Ramyaa

My name is Ramyaa Kota, and I am a sophomore at Texas A&M University. I am currently studying Economics and Computer Science as a University Honors Fellow, with aspirations of becoming a corporate lawyer. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout my college. In my free time, I enjoy drawing, writing, and going out to eat with my friends.

Mathematics has always been a strong subject for me academically. My father, who loves math, would teach me advanced math concepts that went beyond what I learned in school. As a result, I was placed in advanced math classes and often considered one of the top students in my math class. As I grew older, I realized that my affinity for math stems from my logical thinking skills. Math is essentially a game of logic, and once you understand the reasoning behind it, it becomes clear and straightforward.

As a tutor, my goal is to convey this logical approach instead of simply asking students to memorize formulas. I also strive to make tutoring an enjoyable experience for students, as it fosters a better learning environment.

I have had tutoring experiences throughout my life. I have a younger brother who is eight years younger than me, and I have always helped him with his school subjects. Additionally, my mother works in education, so I have learned effective teaching strategies from her. Professionally, I have tutored both in-person and online, primarily working with middle schoolers and high school lowerclassmen in Illinois and Texas. As a tutor with superprof, I aim to truly educate students and tailor to every student's needs.

About the lesson

I strive to accommodate lessons to the individual needs and interests of my students. Here is an overview of how my lessons typically unfold:

1. Prior to the lesson, I review the student's class material and discuss with them the topics that require attention.

2. During the lesson, I begin by briefly introducing the concept and providing examples.

3. Next, I present a set of problems related to the topics that need to be worked on, and I assist the student in working through these problems.

4. I also address any specific questions the student may have about their assignments.

5. Towards the end of the lesson, my aim is to help students understand the logic behind the math, rather than simply memorizing steps. It is important to comprehend why math concepts work the way they do.

6. As homework, I may assign additional math problems or provide customized math videos based on the agreement between the student and myself.

My classes are not traditional lectures where students passively listen. They are interactive and collaborative, with a focus on active learning. I believe that the best way to learn math is by actively engaging with it.

By offering students extra practice and fostering a deeper understanding, my goal is to instill confidence in their math abilities.

Once again, the lesson will be adjusted according to the student's existing knowledge, needs, and requests.
