About Jasmine

I am an Economics and Politics undergraduate at the University of Edinburgh. Having just completed an intensive season of A-level assessments, I believe that my thorough, in-depth knowledge of A-level economics as well as resources (model essays, diagrams and notes ) will help the students to gain a thorough understanding of the content. My experiences in consistently striving to improve my economics essays will serve the students well in terms of obtaining a level 5, top-grade economics essay as well as exam techniques. At first glance, A-level economics may appear complex, but it all boils down to seeking the optimal method for grasping the content and composing essays. I look forward to helping you achieve the grade you deserve!

About the lesson

My teaching methodology revolves around a single word: confidence. My tutoring style is usually a combination of content and exam-style essay writing. In our first lesson, I'd like to know which topics you'd like me to cover and which academic skills you believe you're lacking (i.e essay writing, shorter questions etc). During our one-hour lesson, I will go over all of the key areas of understanding in a specific topic and ensure that you are comfortable with them. Then, I'd like to work with you to plan an essay question that will test your ability to apply what you've just learned. In this manner, we not only consolidate knowledge but also strengthen your essay planning skills in timed conditions.
Given that this is a one-on-one lesson, I am confident that all inquiries/questions will be addressed. Sometimes, due to a lack of confidence, students may be hesitant to write an essay for homework; in this case, I believe it would be extremely beneficial if we wrote an essay together for him/her/they to gain a broad understanding of how I write an A* essay as in the techniques required such as logical chains of reasoning, how to embed examples, and so on.

As previously stated, the goal of my lessons is to boost your confidence by fundamentally understanding the topic and being able to demonstrate that fully in your essay writing and to, quite frankly, achieve an A*. So let me do the legwork while you relax and enjoy the lessons!
