I have tutored students with a passion. We all know that understanding subjects like economics or finance is not that easy, but it may take time to "digest" the knowledge. That is why I go slow by slow and make sure students understand the subject very well.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

As an experienced tutor, I have developed in n interest in starting tutoring when I realized my passion for teaching and tutoring during my university education. It was indeed a pleasure for me to help peers or younger students understand challenging concepts.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

    • Economics: he could teach topics such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, international economics, or financial economics.
    • Finance: With expertise in finance he might teach subjects like corporate finance, investment analysis, financial markets and institutions, or portfolio management.
    • Statistics and Econometrics: If skilled in statistics and econometrics, hecould teach courses on statistical methods, regression analysis, time series analysis, or applied econometrics.
    • Mathematics: he can teach various levels of mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, or mathematical modeling, particularly if these subjects are relevant to economics or finance.
    • Research Methods: With experience in research methods, he might teach courses on empirical research, experimental design, data analysis techniques, or academic writing and publishing.
    • Other Related Subjects: Depending on his expertise he can also teach related subjects such as business analytics, risk management, international trade, or economic development.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

There are good economists including Dani Rodrik, Daron Acemoglu (Top economists) who indeed inspired me.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

Being a good tutor involves a combination of qualities that contribute to effective teaching and positive student outcomes. I think most of the first issue is the subject Knowledge: A skilled tutor ought to be well-versed in the material they are instructing. This entails having in-depth knowledge of the subject matter in addition to having the capacity to communicate difficult ideas in a way that students can understand. Second important issue would be clear communication skills. Effective tutoring requires clear communication. A competent tutor can answer questions from students in an engaged and helpful way, communicate material succinctly and clearly, and offer constructive criticism.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

Learning is like running a marathon. Some of your peers can be faster than you are but it is important who will finish the marathon, not the ones who run faster.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

Most important issue I face with students are forced by their parents to get tutoring. This is indeed, makes my job harder. I can understand if a student has the passion of learning less than one minute when I start to tutor. I am against for teaching/tutoring to students who are forced to do.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

I have the passion of teaching in Economics, particularly discussing the current economic events with students

  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions) ?

I have the passion of teaching in every aspects of the topics. More importantly, I am prominent researcher and keep myself updated with the changes in the topics.

Experienced tutors might develop an interest in tutoring economics for various reasons:
Passion for Economics: They might have a genuine interest and passion for economics, finding joy in studying economic theories, principles, and real-world applications.
Academic Background: Tutors with a background in economics, such as a degree or professional experience in the field, might naturally gravitate towards tutoring in this subject to share their knowledge with others.
Career Opportunities: Economics is a field with diverse career opportunities, ranging from finance and business to public policy and academia. Tutors might see tutoring in economics as a way to help students excel academically and prepare for future careers in these areas.
Personal Fulfilment: Teaching and helping others learn can be personally fulfilling. Experienced tutors might find satisfaction in guiding students through challenging economic concepts and seeing them succeed academically as a result.
Demand for Tutoring Services: There may be a high demand for economics tutoring due to its prevalence as a subject in high school, college, and graduate-level curricula. Experienced tutors might see this demand as an opportunity to leverage their expertise and provide valuable educational support to students.
Overall, the decision to specialize in tutoring economics is often influenced by a combination of personal interest, expertise, career opportunities, and the demand for tutoring services in the field.
