I typically try to make use of modern-day examples.
I would explain the current oil crises using demand and supply graphs to clarify the shift in the oil supply curve owing to external conditions resulting in a higher world oil price. The higher world oil price further leads to prices of all goods increasing, in economic terms, inflation.
These lessons are for middle-school to high-school students who are facing challenges in their school program or need some help going over the edge in that exam.
