About Ramzan

My name is Ramzan Javaid and I am a tutor with a real passion for helping students achieve their best in Maths. I have taught students up to GCSE level and have also supported many pupils preparing for the 11+. I enjoy working with students through topics that once felt difficult and seeing their confidence grow. I began tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping people learn. I have worked with a wide range of students, from those aiming to secure places at grammar schools to those who simply want to strengthen their understanding and improve their grades. I also mentor junior colleagues in my professional life, which has reinforced how much I enjoy supporting others and explaining things in a clear and approachable way. In my lessons, I aim to create an atmosphere that is calm, supportive and enjoyable ensuring students feel comfortable asking questions and to take steady steps at a pace that suits them. My focus is always on building both understanding and confidence, leaving students feeling more prepared and capable than before.

About the lesson

My teaching style is very student focused, taking time to understand where a student is struggling and what their goals are and building lessons around them. I keep my sessions clear, calm and supportive so students feel comfortable asking questions and make amazing progress. I aim to keep my lessons clear, engaging and focused on genuine understanding. I use worked examples to show how to approach a topic, then move on to guided practice. I introduce past paper questions early, as they help students get used to the style and expectations of real exams. I encourage students to talk through their thinking as they work, which helps me pick up on any areas of uncertainty and deal with them straight away. If a topic is proving difficult, we slow it down, break it into simple steps and build confidence gradually. For younger pupils and those preparing for the 11+, I include short timed activities to help with focus and exam preparation.
