About Sorrel
I have 7 years of experience teaching Economics to students preparing for examinations, university study, and deeper understanding of policy systems. I earned a Master’s Degree in Public Economics, which provided strong grounding in market behaviour, government decision-making, and economic evaluation of real-world challenges. This academic background allows me to teach economics with both theoretical clarity and practical relevance.
My teaching approach is warm, structured, and focused on helping learners think independently. I enjoy guiding students step by step through economic graphs and concepts, ensuring they understand not only what the model shows but why it matters. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas openly.
Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with economics through reading on global policy debates, development issues, and financial trends. Teaching economics is meaningful because students often gain both academic success and deeper understanding of the world around them. Supporting learners in building confidence and insight remains one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Economics becomes truly interesting when students realise it explains how individuals, businesses, and governments make decisions in a world of limited resources. In my lessons, I guide learners through microeconomics, macroeconomics, supply and demand systems, inflation, unemployment, trade, and government policy with clear explanation and supportive discussion. I focus on connecting economic theory to real-world events so learners can see how models explain everyday life and global challenges. Each session encourages critical thinking and steady confidence building.
Lessons are personalised according to the learner’s level. Beginners focus on foundational vocabulary, simple market diagrams, and introductory reasoning about scarcity and opportunity cost. Intermediate learners strengthen elasticity understanding, market structures, fiscal and monetary policy tools, and exam-style data response questions. Advanced students refine essay evaluation, international trade reasoning, development economics, and deeper policy discussion. Practice and feedback are included in every lesson.
Economics lessons help students grow in structured reasoning, critical writing, and awareness of global systems. Over time, learners become confident discussing economic issues with logic and evidence. My goal is to help students succeed academically while also appreciating economics as a powerful lens for understanding society.
