About Abigail
I hold a B.A in Economics and an M.Sc in Development Economics from internationally recognised institutions. Over 9 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students from diverse academic backgrounds, helping them build clarity and confidence in economic thinking. My academic journey strengthened my appreciation for both theoretical models and real-world applications of economics. My teaching philosophy centres on clarity, patience, and adaptability. I believe complex economic ideas become approachable when broken into structured steps supported by real examples. I focus on understanding rather than memorisation, helping students explain concepts in their own words. Each learner receives personalised guidance based on their goals and learning pace. Outside teaching, I stay engaged with economics through policy analysis, economic research reading, and global development discussions. These experiences enrich my lessons and keep them relevant and engaging. Teaching economics is deeply rewarding because I witness students transform confusion into confidence and curiosity. My economics lessons focus on helping students clearly understand how economic ideas influence everyday decisions, societies, and global systems. I introduce core concepts such as supply and demand, market structures, inflation, and economic growth using relatable examples that connect theory to real life. Lessons are designed to reduce fear around graphs, formulas, and terminology by explaining each idea patiently and logically. Students are encouraged to ask questions freely and reflect on how economic choices affect individuals and nations. As lessons progress, learners build stronger analytical skills through guided case studies, policy discussions, and structured problem-solving. I help students interpret data, evaluate economic arguments, and understand cause-and-effect relationships in markets. Practice exercises, discussion prompts, and exam-style questions are used to strengthen clarity and confidence. Each session is paced carefully so learners feel supported rather than rushed.
