About Amisha
I am due to start University this September. My academic progress showcases the importance of working hard in shaping your future. This is why I have been actively involved in young people's education throughout my time at High School. I was given the opportunity to tutor a student in Year 11 in GCSE maths. He achieved his target grade because of the effort he put into completing his homework, regularly doing practice with exam questions and refining his technique. As well as this, I have helped out in a classroom of Year 8 students where I assisted students on a one-to-one basis with the task that they were set.

Teaching basic fractions and numeracy to students in Year 2 has taught me how to tailor my approach to a wide range of people of different ages and from diverse backgrounds. For example, I used counters to explain how fractions work to a group of Year 2 students. Whereas, tutoring GCSE students involves a stronger focus on looking at exam questions and identifying topics which need to be revised. Teaching A level Maths would require me to provide clear worked examples which explain the method because the concepts may be quite new to students.
