About Levi
I am a Microsoft Excel tutor with 5 years of experience and a BSc in Economics and Statistics. I have worked with over 160 students predominantly in economics, economic policy, and social science research contexts. My economics background means I teach Excel with a specific understanding of the data types, analytical questions, and reporting conventions of economic research, producing students whose Excel skills are immediately applicable to the specific demands of economic analysis rather than only to generic business contexts. Let me help you develop Excel competence that is specifically tailored to the demands of economic research and analysis.

My Excel teaching for Economics and research students specifically addresses the analytical workflow from economic data retrieval through statistical analysis to research communication, which differs meaningfully from general Excel training in its specific focus on the data types, analytical methods, and reporting conventions of economic and social science research. I teach economic data sourcing alongside Excel analysis — how to access and import data from FRED, the ONS, World Bank, and other major economic data repositories — because the ability to find relevant, credible economic data is a prerequisite to meaningful economic analysis in Excel. Time series analysis in Excel covers the specific techniques for visualising, detrending, and analysing economic time series data, including moving averages, seasonal adjustment, and the identification of trend and cyclical components, because these are the analytical operations that economic data most commonly requires. Regression analysis using the Analysis Toolpak is developed with strong statistical interpretation alongside the mechanical Excel implementation, covering the meaning of regression coefficients, standard errors, R-squared, and the F-test in language that economics students will encounter in their quantitative methods courses. Economic chart conventions — how to produce professional-quality economic charts with appropriate axis labelling, source citations, and clear visual presentation of the specific insight being communicated — are addressed because the charts that appear in economic research and policy documents follow specific conventions that general Excel chart training does not cover. I teach students to build economic dashboards that track specific economic indicators of interest over time, connecting data retrieval, analysis, and visualisation into a coherent analytical workflow. My teaching goal is an Economics or research student who can access, analyse, and clearly communicate insights from real economic data in Excel.
