About Hannah
Hi there! I'm Hannah, a graduate from the University of Waterloo's economics and business program. I've got a passion for helping students. While I was in university, I worked as a Residence Assistant, helping first-year students navigate their first year of university. As part of this I led group tutoring sessions for subjects like Economics, statistics, and math. Plus, I was the go-to person for editing essays, resumes, and cover letters for my friends and fellow students. Now, I'm excited to be helping you improve on your english skills in all its forms!

As a dedicated tutor, my approach is rooted in fostering a comfortable and engaging learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and excel in English as a Second Language (ESL). My teaching methodology involves a balanced blend of interactive discussions, practical exercises, and personalized feedback, tailored to individual learning styles and objectives.
A typical lesson plan with me begins by setting clear goals for the session, followed by a brief review of previous concepts. We then delve into the core topic, whether it's conversational practice, grammar rules, or writing exercises. Real-world examples and relatable scenarios are integrated to enhance comprehension. Towards the end, I encourage questions and discussions, ensuring that doubts are clarified and concepts are solidified.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my holistic approach that encompasses not only linguistic skills but also practical communication. My background in editing college essays has honed my attention to detail, aiding in refining language nuances. Moreover, my degree in Economics and Business enables me to connect language learning with real-world contexts, enriching the learning experience.
My lessons are designed for individuals seeking to elevate their English proficiency, regardless of their current level. Whether you're a beginner aiming to grasp the basics or an advanced learner looking to fine-tune your skills, my adaptable teaching style caters to diverse needs. My goal is to instill confidence and competence, equipping each student with the tools they need to excel in English communication, both academically and in practical settings.
