About Luca
The thing that matters most to me as a tutor is respecting the time and effort that my students put in. I carefully review my student's homework before each session taking into account the places where they excelled and struggled to formulate a lesson plan that makes sense for them. As someone who meticulously plans each week, I'll make sure that I never have to reschedule or cancel a session unless in case of emergency.

I center my lessons around teaching a deep understanding of the subject matter and developing systematic problem-solving strategies that can be applied across a wide range of disciplines. My lessons begin with foundational practice problems and mini-lectures that build into more complex or exam-level questions. Here, I work with my students to develop step-by-step processes that make sense to them and can be applied to a wide range of other questions. Through this rigorous process, we'll take a deep dive into the whys and hows of complex systems that leave the student with a firm base of knowledge and a complete grasp on the topic. Between lessons, I assign or create my own practice problems that reinforce the skills we practiced and sometimes ask the student to go a little beyond, applying their newfound understanding to other areas. I believe strongly in this method for nearly all levels of schooling, and it has worked in the past to turn unconfident students into competent and passionate ones.
