About Lawrence

I work with early years and primary school learners. I help them develop confidence and competence in both literacy and numeracy within a few weeks of structured lessons. My goal is to ensure that children not only understand what they learn in school but also build the academic skills that will support them throughout their education.

My lessons focus on strengthening essential skills such as reading fluency, spelling accuracy, grammar, comprehension, basic arithmetic and problem solving. I adapt each lesson to the child’s learning pace and style, creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and gradually build confidence in their abilities.

I work closely with parents to give feedback on progress so you always know how your child is improving.
My aim is simple: To help your child grow academically, confidently.
I’m currently accepting a few new students this month and offering a free assessment lesson where I evaluate skills and create a learning plan.

About the lesson

Each lesson is structured, interactive and carefully tailored to your child’s learning needs and pace.

My typical lesson involves:

• A short review of previous material
• Skill building in literacy and numeracy
• Guided practice with clear explanations
• Exercises that boost confidence and therefore encourage participation
• A short assessment to monitor understanding and progress

For literacy development, my lessons focus on:

• Reading fluency and comprehension
• Phonics and spelling
• Grammar and sentence construction
• Vocabulary development
• Creative writing

For numeracy development, my lessons focus on:

• Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Number sense and mental maths
• Problem solving skills
• Homework support and exam preparation

I aim to create a learning environment that is both engaging and disciplined so that I can help children stay focused while enjoying the learning process.

I also provide regular feedback to parents and suggest simple activities that can reinforce learning at home.

I'm currently offering a free introductory lesson where I assess your child’s strengths and identify areas that may need improvement. After the assessment, we can create a structured learning plan designed to help your child grow in confidence and academic ability.

The first lesson with Lawrence will allow you to get to know each other and discuss your needs for future lessons.

Details

My standard rate is ₦4,000 per hour for individual lessons.

For families with more than one child, I offer sibling lessons at a discounted rate of ₦7,000 per hour for two students learning together.

To help parents feel confident before committing, I offer a free introductory lesson. During this session, I assess your child’s current level in literacy and numeracy and discuss a suitable learning plan.

Throughout the tutoring process, I provide regular progress feedback so parents can clearly see how their child is improving.

If you refer a friend who enrolls for lessons, you will receive a 10% discount on your next lesson package as a thank-you.
