About Sandys
I’ve been an elementary school teacher (and administrator) for 32 years. I’ve taught many, many children how to read. My own child was reading by age 3. Kids need to be excited and motivated to learn. I love my job and have success in my role. Being flexible and aware of different learning styles helps me be less rigid to “programs” and instead, follow the child through their growth.

Creating interest in books helps lay the foundation for reading success. By linking unknown to known, I build on their knowledge and interests. My lessons are specific to the individual student. From learning letters to reading chapters, the discovery of turning print into a message is an exciting journey. I’m blessed to do what I love.
