About Katlyn
I recently finished my degree in Early Childhood Education at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina. Their rigorous teacher education program prepared me for my first grade student teaching position at Westview Primary School. I have worked in an after school / summer camp program at a public school in Goose Creek, South Carolina for the past 2 years, leading and organizing activities and groups of children from kindergarten to fifth grade.

I believe that while working with children it is important to build a strong and personal relationship with every child and their parents/ guardians. I also believe that every child is capable of learning and that every child deserves a strong and appropriate education. I plan to teach students with a balanced literacy approach by allowing more hands on and exploratory lessons with topics that interest my students.
