  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My interest in mathematics, computer and physics began during my school days, where solving complex problems felt like unraveling fascinating puzzles. This curiosity deepened during my B.Tech years at NIT Bhopal then moving to IIT's, where I was able to see the practical applications of these subjects in real-world scenarios.
The idea of private tutoring came naturally as I often helped my peers understand difficult concepts, and I realized that teaching is not just about transferring knowledge-it's about inspiring confidence. My move to private tutoring was driven by my desire to make quality education accessible, especially online, where students can learn at their own pace and comfort.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I primarily teach Mathematics, computer and Physics, subjects that form the backbone of logical thinking and analytical problem-solving with the latest technology. In Math, I enjoy topics like Calculus, Algebra, and Coordinate Geometry. In Physics, I particularly love Mechanics and Electromagnetism because of the way they connect theory to real-world phenomena and specialization in Computers - basics to Machine learning - deep learning.
Topics that involve rote memorization, like certain parts of modern physics or statistics, are less appealing to me-not because they are unimportant, but because they offer fewer opportunities for intuitive exploration. Still, I strive to make even those topics engaging for my students.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Yes, during my time at NIT Bhopal, I had a professor who not only taught with remarkable clarity but also treated every question-no matter how basic-with respect and patience. He taught me that a good teacher listens more than they speak, and that understanding a student's perspective is key to helping them grow. His ability to break down complicated concepts into digestible ideas deeply influenced my own teaching style.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs patience, empathy, and adaptability. It's important to recognize that every student learns differently-some may need visual cues, while others may learn better through real-life examples or problem-solving exercises. A good tutor should be able to adjust their methods accordingly. Strong communication skills, a solid grasp of the subject, and the ability to simplify complex ideas are essential. Lastly, being passionate and genuinely invested in a student's progress makes a significant difference.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

I remember one particular moment during my B.Tech when I was helping a friend understand a difficult concept in vector calculus. After several attempts with formulas and derivations, I drew a simple diagram and explained it visually-and it clicked for him immediately. That moment taught me that the right explanation can transform frustration into joy. It also made me realize the power of teaching in a way that resonates with the student's individual learning style.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or are still facing in your subject?

One ongoing challenge is keeping up with changing exam patterns and evolving student needs with my research work. Each student comes with different gaps in understanding, and it takes time and sensitivity to identify and bridge those gaps. Also, online teaching-especially across time zones while living in Australia-requires discipline and strong time management to ensure every session is effective. But these challenges also help me grow continuously as a tutor.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Teaching is a true passion of mine apart from my PhD work(research). There's something incredibly fulfilling about seeing a student's face light up when they finally understand a concept. Beyond teaching, I also have a keen interest in philosophy and problem-solving in general-whether it's analytical puzzles, logical reasoning, or real-world optimization problems. That's probably why I enjoy Maths and Physics so much: they give me a framework to think critically and creatively.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions)?

I believe what sets me apart is my commitment to each student's journey. I don't just aim to cover the syllabus-I focus on building a strong foundation, improving confidence, and instilling a lifelong love for learning. My international exposure, both as a professional and as a tutor, helps me bring a global perspective and a flexible approach to my sessions. I am approachable, reliable, and always open to feedback, which creates a comfortable and growth-oriented environment for my students. That's what makes me a true Superprof.
