About Zara
Hi, I’m currently an undergraduate at Durham University (UK University of the Year), having previously achieved all 9s at GCSE at North London Collegiate School and secured a place at Westminster School, London’s leading independent school.
I provide regular feedback, set purposeful homework and track progress carefully so that both students and parents can see measurable improvement. My goal is to create a calm, motivating learning environment where students feel capable and confident in their abilities. I was an assistant teacher at Academic Excellence where I taught English and Maths to Years 3-6

Each one-hour session is carefully structured around the individual student: we begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then provide clear, step-by-step instruction on key concepts, worked examples, and guided exam practice. I place strong emphasis on active recall, spaced repetition, and mastering mark schemes so students understand exactly how to secure top grades. My approach is supportive yet academically rigorous. Alongside my academic achievements, I have experience working as an assistant teacher at a summer camp, where I supported students of varying ages and abilities, strengthening my ability to adapt explanations and manage different learning styles. My lessons are ideal for GCSE students (Years 9–11), whether they are aiming for grades 7–9, seeking to improve confidence, or looking to refine their exam technique.
