About Isobel
I graduated from Durham University with a BA in Philosophy and Politics in 2021.
Subjects I am well versed in include International Security, Interdependence and Organisation, Global Regions in International Relations, Comparative Politics, Moral Theory, Modern Philosophy, History of Science and Medicine, Issues in Contemporary Ethics, Philosophy of Religion, Political and Social Philosophy, Sovereignty, State and Empire, Biomedical Ethics and Metaphysics.
I thoroughly enjoyed my BA research project in US Politics and Feminist Theory. I am particularly interested in Feminist Thought, Intersectional Feminist Theory and the History of Feminism.

I've worked with all age groups, from primary school to university and people in retirement.
I take a student-centred, constructivist approach to teaching and I begin by including students in the planning and implementation of my lessons. I find that involving learners in these decisions places more responsibility and ownership on them and in turn they perform better overall. I believe students know how they learn best and as such I listen to their preferences. I'm patient, respectful and I make lessons fun.
I prepare the lessons in advance and deliver lessons via Zoom whiteboard space and PowerPoint which my student can see and engage throughout the lesson. I send the PowerPoint to my students after the lesson so that they can refer back to the content.
I have successfully supported many students from grammar, private and state schools.
