About Rhodri
I am an experienced educator with an array of educational experience. Presently, I am a postgraduate at Durham University, where I am reading Hispanic and Francophone Literature and Culture, the History of Art, and Politics and International Relations. I have 5+ years of experience as a Private Tutor working with students between the ages of 7 and 25. Recently, I have also been part of the team which provided Dusemond EXEAT educational programmes at Rugby School as well as having worked in a Secondary School in Spain in conjunction with the British Council where I taught English, Politics & Ethics, Music, Spanish Literature, and Natural Sciences. I am a strong advocate for education, and for changing the way we teach. I believe in working to get the greatest potential out of all students through personal tutorials and encouraging dialogue. By working to not only teach subjects and topic areas but equally to instil critical thinking skills during my lessons, I ensure that my students can develop their own thoughts and ultimately feel assured in their own individual responses.

My sessions are always personally tailored around the individual style a student would most effectively respond to, and I am happy to work in discourse with you to create a specific programme that would support your/their needs in any way possible. I generally offer three different approaches to tutorials, tailored specially for each individual pupil: In discussion-led tutorials, I place extra focus on ensuring that my student is always put at the centre of the conversation, giving them/you prompts to develop their/your own knowledge and helping them/you to better vocalise and express the information they/you may have already learnt, either in education or on other platforms. In development-led tutorials, I will place more focus on building up knowledge, through tutor-led sessions in which I will assist my students in working through topics to build up an awareness of issues surrounding a subject, or vocabulary related to specific areas. As well as this, in these tutorials, I would be more inclined to set homework tasks geared towards the reinforcement of topics covered during sessions. Finally, examination-focused tutorials will look almost entirely at improving examination techniques and style. These would be geared around looking at past exam papers, developing structures and approaches to questions.
