About Athena
My name is Athena! I have been teaching children since I was 17, I began with teaching piano and 6 months ago began tutoring academic subjects. I love teaching! Knowing that I am making a difference in someone's learning gives me great pride, and hopefully the difference becomes a love and appreciation for the subject. I aim to make my lessons as interesting as possible as I remember full well how uninspiring some teachers could be, which inevitably leads to dislike of the subject and maybe even not liking learning!

Lessons are usually an hour, but can last up to an hour and a half. My techniques are to create comprehensive notes in which the student can refer to for revision. We create revision plans and learn exam technique. I have been tutoring English for 6 months, receiving A*'s in both literature and language for GCSE and an A* at A-level. I have been out of school for 4 years now so my memory of it is still fresh, I have all of my notes from A-level which I am willing to share with students.
