About Lizzie

A lifelong student and historian-in-training, I attended Duke University for my undergraduate education, graduating Magna Cum Laude with highest distinction received for my Senior Honors Thesis in History (my primary major), along with a secondary major in English and a minor in Political Science.

Having received a two-year full scholarship to the University of Oxford in England for master's study in Early Modern History, I am now working to complete my dissertation while serving as a resource to students seeking specialized tutoring, admissions consulting, and academic writing/editing assistance.

About the lesson

Having benefitted immensely from years of wonderful academic teaching and mentoring that has redirected the course of life for the better, I strive to be a resource for any high school, college, or graduate student who seeks similar such guidance, whether through specialized tutoring, admissions consulting (especially to top institutions), or essay editing/proofreading.

With my areas of expertise being in the humanities (namely, History, English language/literature, Politics/Political Science/Civics), I am eager to assist students across these disciplines. If you're a high school student trying to make sense of a poem, or a college student looking to organize and produce a successful essay for a course, or anything in-between, I'd love to help!

If you're a high school student in the throes of college applications, or a college student applying to transfer or for graduate programs or scholarships, we can work through all of your application materials together.

As a current student myself, I understand and can sympathize with the struggles that you're facing! I've been through them, and have been able to overcome them with trial-and-error, having developed and secured along the way a number of key strategies for success.

I will also bring to our time together my experience across a range of disciplines, from my academic work in the humanities, to my extensive time spent in journalism writing and editing, to my hands-on work in politics and on academic research projects.
