About Rémy

I'm a french drummer who initially moved to London for music studies in BIMM London which i have now completed. I started playing at 12 years old and started playing gigs and recording myself around 15. I've gathered experience performing and interacting with older musicians until i moved to London where i was able to start doing it full time. As a gigging musician most of what i do is funk/rock/fusion/soul music, although i can play metal and various jazz/blues/latin/afro genres.

I started teaching around 16, all ages and built experience on that field and i was able to build a strong sense of what it was i wanted to teach and a solid way of doing it so that my lessons would always have structure and continuity.

I am very passionate about all of it and take great pride and pleasure in helping people move through their musical journey!

About the lesson

As a drummer and as a person, i strive towards personal improvement and understanding of the mechanics of learning.

With my teaching, i don't focus solely on a pattern based approach: i want my students to fully understand the way rhythm works, how their playing fits in the music, and develop the ability to come up with interesting ideas continuously and mostly important, on their own, so that they build their own sound and identity as we go.

I have myself taken a lot of high end lessons on multiple occasions with various masters and have ways of getting this knowledge across in an understandable and first-hand tested way. Most of the things i'll show you will allow you to develop multiple aspects of your playing simultaneously so you can progress as quick as possible while fully assimilating everything.

I am looking for intermediate to advanced students wanting to improve their technical level/ability to improvise or learn to play songs they'd normally consider too difficult.
