About Jakes

I specialise in helping adults who, for any reason, feel uneasy on the road. Together, we address the obstacles holding you back and begin building both confidence and competence behind the wheel.

My students learn to keep themselves and their families safe, no matter how unpredictable other drivers may be. Lessons go beyond vehicle mechanics and traffic laws, covering the psychology of driving, including road rage management and strategies to avoid dangerous situations.

I have been driving safely for 23 years with zero at-fault accidents. My programme has successfully helped countless drivers—and it can work for you too.

About the lesson

I offer the first hour of the first lesson for free so I can get to know you, understand your driving goals, and identify what may be holding you back. The initial consultation usually takes about 30 minutes, followed by about 30 minutes of free driving practice. After that, lessons can continue at my regular rate.

Many of my students experience anxiety around driving, so I take time to understand the root of that fear and help them build confidence gradually. I assess which traffic patterns and road conditions you are comfortable with, then choose a lesson location that supports safe progress.

I usually begin with a few laps in a parking lot and build from there at a pace that feels manageable. During each lesson, I identify areas that need improvement and coach you through tense or challenging driving situations.

We cover the essentials, including road rules, vehicle control, and driving mechanics. More importantly, we also focus on the mental side of driving: quick decision-making, emotional control, confidence under pressure, and avoiding careless mistakes.
