About María

My name is María, and I have a degree in Art (in addition to Economics), with more than twenty years of training in various painting techniques at prestigious painting academies in Madrid, Florence and Nimes. My natural inclination is the portrait, although I also delve into other themes. My work is exhibited in various group exhibitions in Madrid galleries as well as on two online Art platforms. I have university certification as an expert in Art Therapy by the UMC, studies that complement the attendance to regular seminars given by the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). This has allowed me to verify that the practice of drawing, painting and crafts not only improves artistic ability and knowledge of the world of Art, but also encourages the development of fine motor motor skills, concentration, introspection, patience. and the self-esteem of young and old. On the other hand, as a member of the Fundación de Amigos del Museo del Prado, I participate in its various activities and periodic seminars. As a result of this ongoing training and research work, I write an Art blog that currently has more than 200 widely documented articles.

About the lesson

I teach drawing and painting classes adapted to the psychomotor level of each student and their preferences, guiding them to achieve advances that enhance their artistic skills, while increasing their self-esteem, concentration, self-knowledge and patience, in a relaxed atmosphere that allows them to enjoy the process, not just the end result. At the time of teaching, I usually comment on the story of an artist, a work of art or various artistic movements. In this way, they acquire knowledge of Art History in a natural way.
