About Charlotte
I obtained A* in GCSE English and an A in A Level English Literature. I then achieved a First Class BA (Hons) and a Distinction in my Masters when studying English Literature at the University of Kent, and am currently studying a DPhil in English Literature at the University of Oxford.
I have previously worked in primary schools helping to improve children's literacy. Furthermore, I have also worked as a librarian, similarly helping to enhance young people's enjoyment in reading and literature.
I am passionate about studying English Literature and am keen to inspire a similar enjoyment within my students.

I graduated from the University of Kent with a First-Class Honours degree and a Distinction in my Masters degree in English Literature.
I am happy to teach students from Key Stage 3 up to A level.
How can you help me with my English assessments?
My teaching method is catered to each person and I will work with you to figure out the structure that is best suited to your method of learning. I approach each session individually, allowing the student to identify topics they wish to work on and improve. In particular, I aim to enhance the student’s essay writing by providing techniques and structures which are easy to follow and implement.
I understand the pressures of studies and exams and will always be calm, friendly, sympathetic, and constructive.
Do you help with 11+ assessments?
I ensure that students have a solid foundation of vocabulary, verbal reasoning, comprehension, and SPaG. I will also tailor my approach to the particular issues my students are facing, to ensure they build their confidence.
How do you teach GCSE students?
I focus on the fundamentals of essay writing, which can be applied to both coursework and exams. Past papers and exam technique will be focused on throughout the year, to ensure greater confidence in GCSE assessments. I also teach the basics of literary analysis, close reading, and oral presentation skills.
How do you teach A Level students?
I will focus on exam technique, ensuring that the student is confident in building a well-structured essay under exam conditions. I will also teach close reading, literary analysis, and how to develop a creative argument for your essays.
