About Fern
Having performed extensively across the West Coast since my first recital at age 9, I have spent 13 years guiding students from initial steps through diploma-level mastery. Do you want to refine your sight playing, master complex chord voicing, or improve your pedaling technique? My studies at the Eastman School of Music inform how I approach pop and contemporary repertoire alongside classical standards. Integrating sight transposition allows me to build a foundation that continues to evolve as my students grow musically.

Sight playing functions as the heartbeat of 8 minutes of warm up time in our rhythmically centered study environment. Because I approach theory as inseparable from performance for students from Grade 3 upward, I integrate harmonic analysis directly into the keys under your fingers. This DMA trained perspective ensures that technical exercises always serve the broader goal of musical expression. By treating notation as a blueprint for artistic choice, I aim to provide a clear path toward independence at the instrument.
