About Melanie
I have spent over 25 years supporting students and their families and continue to stay connected with many as I am not just an educator but a support person that the family and the child feels will continue to support. I am a grandmother of 6 and am blessed to work with them as well. In addition to being an educator, I am the coach for the "buddy" program at my church that provides adult support to children with Autism. With my experiences, I find that I have the patience and understanding of the struggles of students and am committed to working remotely with students to ensure that they are successful.

With 25 years of education experience, I understand how difficult it can be to grasp content. With a teaching method that involves an "I do, we do and you do" approach, I feel that it is important to provide concrete examples and working together to truly gauge understanding. In addition, I understand that a student must feel success in order to take risks on doing work that may be harder than they feel they can do. In addition to working with elementary ELA and Math, I have much experience with children with special needs, especially Autism and have strategies and supports to ensure student success.
